About Mack & Ruby’s Safe Haven
Mack & Ruby’s Safe Haven was founded on a lifelong commitment to service, compassion, and community leadership.
Ruby Kennedy devoted more than three decades as a registered nurse at Memorial Hospital in Modesto, specializing in Labor & Delivery and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Throughout her career, she walked alongside families during some of life’s most sacred and vulnerable moments. Her work was defined by steady leadership, calm reassurance, and a deep belief in caring for others with dignity and respect. Beyond the hospital, she extended that same compassion into the community through active involvement with the Women’s Auxiliary, the King Kennedy Memorial Center, and numerous organizations dedicated to empowerment and social well-being.
Mack Wilson served 30 years in the United States Air Force, where duty, discipline, and integrity shaped his approach to leadership.
A devoted father of seven, he carried those values into civilian life, mentoring students as a counselor at Modesto Junior College and serving in civic roles that supported families and tenants’ rights. His involvement with the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the King Kennedy Memorial Center, the Modesto City Schools Council, and the Church of Christ of Modesto reflects a lifelong dedication to justice, faith, and the well-being of others.
Together, Mack and Ruby built a legacy rooted in accountability, compassion, and service. That legacy continues today through Safe Haven. Their family remains committed to providing safe, stable sober living for men seeking a structured and respectful co-living environment. While Safe Haven is not a clinical treatment program, it upholds clear expectations, independence, personal responsibility, and mutual respect—principles that have guided this family for generations.
Safe Haven exists not simply as housing, but as a continuation of a promise: to serve with integrity, to lead with faith, and to provide a supportive place where men can live with dignity and stability within our community.
